December 3, 2010 - Village of Pinehurst Tree Lighting - 5:30-7pm. The village fills with Christmas spirits as festivities start mid afternoon with refreshments and entertainment. December 6, 2010 - Top Hat and Tails - A most unique and sophisticated pet adoption event featuring black dogs, black cats, white dogs, and white cats – all in search of forever homes. December 7, 2010 - Carthage Christmas Parade & Tree Lighting - 6 pm Tuesday in Carthage, NC. Free. Music, Santa Claus, entertainment - annual holiday parade follows. For more information call (910) 947-2331.

December 2010 - Southern Pines Reindeer Fun Run - The Second Annual Southern Pines Reindeer Fun Run (5k Run/Walk )is a FUN community event with a goal of 600 participants ranging from serious runners to recreational walkers, families, pets and local businesses.
